Dougherty Arts School, Austin TX

I teach digital photography classes to teens at the Dougherty Arts School in Austin, and it is a wonderful way to share my passion for photography with others.  Many of the students have only used small point and shoot cameras, and it is so exciting to see their eyes light up when they are able to experiment with a digital SLR camera for the first time!
They discover the importance of lighting, composition, and having control of their cameras in manual settings. We also cover editing in Photoshop, ink jet printing, mounting, and matting photographs.
The result is an understanding of how truly unique their creative vision can be, and it brings me so much joy to see them develop into young artists!
